The third edition of Metaverse Fashion Week wrapped this weekend with attendance up 3x year over year. Balenciaga, Coach, and a long tail of independent designers showed wearable NFT collections built for Roblox, Fortnite, and the open metaverse. The most interesting drops were not from luxury houses. They came from native 3D studios who treat the avatar as the primary canvas, with physical merchandise as the optional remix. That inversion of priorities is what makes this corner of the industry feel genuinely new.
